Windows iTunes app freezes

My PC iTunes app keeps freezing. I have the latest v 12.13.2.3 from the Microsoft Store. I'm running Windows 11 Pro, v 10.0.22631 Build 22631. All updated applied.


App freezes when I make changes such as renaming a playlist, trying to subscribe to a podcast (a whole other problem). I have to end task in Task Manager. When I relaunch the app, the change is usually completed.


It is persistent and often, annoying for anything other than simply playing the music.

The general troubleshooting advice when iTunes fails to install properly (and reinstalling or repairing it does not work) is to remove not only iTunes but all related components, reboot, remove the target installation folders and reinstall. This should not affect your iTunes library, but it always a good idea to backup first.
