No USB Type-C signal MacBook Pro M1 with Monitor Dell U2722DE

On my 14" MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.5, both the USB-C and HDMI connections respectively to my Dell U2723QE and Dell U2421E monitors lost their connections to the computer. I came across this thread from 2022. It recommends unplugging the monitor(s) for at least five minutes, but it only deals with USB-C connections.


I tried this solution and am happy to report it worked with both the USB-C and HDMI connections.
