Integrating Mail and Reminders - Making Tasks out of Messages

It sure would be nice if I could turn emails into tasks - that link back to the original email

I have discovered that I can drag messages into Reminders but... all it does is create a new task with the header from the subject of the message. Near as I can tell there is no way to open the original email from the task.

Calendar does what I'm talking about. If I create an Event from the content of an email, that Event is automatically linked back to the source message. If there is information in that message that I need to retrieve - where to park, for example - it opens from the link in the event.

My habit is to leave messages in my inbox until I get around to them. It would great if I could create tasks instead, and open the email from the task.

Is there any way to do this? Seems sorta obvious but... not.
