iTunes Smart Playlist is not following the criteria I have set.

PROBLEM:

iTunes Smart Playlist is not following the criteria I have set. It is including thousands of songs that don't meet the parameters.

TECH SETUP:

-iTunes on a Windows 11 laptop. All software auto updates, and iTunes is the latest version, too.

-I have shut down the laptop and restarted it, to no avail.

-All song files reside on my c drive (the main computer drive). Most have been loaded from my own CDs, some were bought from iTunes.

-All purchased songs are downloaded and NOT playing from iCloud or any other source.

DETAILS:

My Smart Playlist is for favorite composers of songs with a rating of 2 or more stars.

I input 48 composer names to include, and one composer to exclude.

However, when I click "OK", while all the songs have at least 2 stars, the playlist has songs of composer names not on input on my criteria list.

I have 4,200 songs, and 3,557 are appearing in this Smart Playlist now. There should be less than 500 songs in the playlist.

For example, the Smart Playlist criteria of composer names (see below) was input alphabetically.

When I sort the resulting playlist alphabetically by composer (see below), you'll see that none of the first 33 songs should even be included.

There are only 6 composer names that start with the letter "A" in the criteria.

Any ideas on how to make it work? Is there a limit to how many criteria you can select?

SoCal Lisa,

You mention that you have "one composer to exclude." That rule does not show in your image, due to scrolling, but is probably where the problem lies. Can you display that rule?
