How to repair AAC Mist in iTunes for Windows?

Trying to create a ringtone and following al the steps i am missing a vital piece. Convert to acc mist in the file > convert section in my itunes for windows. How to repair if possible?

I believe that the setting you want is in Edit/Preferences/General>Import Settings/Import Using>... and then select AAC Encoder from the drop down list under Import Settings.


Once you do that, the File/Convert menu will show Create AAC Version. Not sure exactly how the create a ringtone part works as I haven't made one for many years.
