can connecting ipad to laptop (windows) through cable damage the ipad's battery health?

i wanted to try to use my ipad as a secondary screen for my laptop for a long period of time (for drawing) but i notice while im connecting it to the laptop my ipad would charge. i was wondering if i connect it for a long period of time constantly would make the ipad battery health get bad? since its constantly charging from my laptop. i heard using your ipad while charging constantly is bad so im a bit worried.
