MacBook Pro 2018 Keyboard

i missed out on the replacement of my keyboard, due to repeating keys.

I asked for an exception and have keyboard replaced.

NO GO.

Now, I am the proud owner of a $3,000 MacBook Pro that repeats keys.

Anyone else experience this lack of customer service?

if your issue was NOT so severe that you submitted your Mac for service within the multi-year window that the program was available, you missed it.

if the problem is severe NOW, you can pay Apple to get a replacement keyboard.

how is your battery holding up? still over 80 percent of its original capacity?

78 percent that is below the 80 percent standard Apple considers "good enough". So if you PAID Apple for a battery replacement, they would replace battery and some nearby stuff for about US$250.

That "battery and nearby stuff" is the battery/keyboard/trackpad/TopPlate assembly, complete.

if you can manage to not complain about it, that turns out to be cheaper than the keyboard replacement cost alone.

they are replacing the battery, provided battery replacement is warranted, for US$250.

Apple has chosen to have fewer sub-assemblies, to reduce the total cost of all parts on the shelf. They are using assemblies to cover multiple different repairs.

As you heard, the keyboard replacement costs US$800, but battery replacement cost just US$250. guaranteed, no surprises, with. 90, data warrant. (in a few cases, the "no surprises" keyboard repair might require a new mainboard, which increases the cost Apple charges when you complain of keyboard malfunction)

if your ONLY issue is key-repeating, you know that is controlled by a keyboard setting, RIGHT?
