There is a mute symbol next to some of my contacts, how do I remove that?

there is a mute symbol next to some of my contacts so that when they send a text there is no “ding” to signify a new text has been sent. How do I reverse that?

Swipe left to right on the message thread like your going to delete the text and click unmute.

Or open said thread, click on the person icon at the top and then turn off hide alerts.
