paste not available from right click dropdown menu

There is no paste option available from right click dropdown menu. cannot copy and paste bookmarks or tabs in safari and most other apps. There is only a copy function (which is no good without a paste). Yes I know about command v, however this does not work in safari. I am trying to learn MAC moving from PC and there are many basic functions that are just not available or very difficult to figure out. Is there any way to add a simple paste function to the right click dropdown menu?

in most cases, there is nowhere in safari appropriate to Paste anything.

If you can paste the clipboard into a new Textedit document, the PLACE you are trying to Paste into is not acceptable for ANYTHING currently contained on the clipboard.

Bookmarks are added to the bookmarks menu with menu commands, not by pasting.

You should be able to open a new Safari tab and paste a URL into its address bar, and have that URL evaluated and its referenced page opened, if possible.
