Unable to locate my lost iPhone in a different country using "Find My"

Find My works literally anywhere in the world.

For example, users who have had a phone stolen often learn that the phone is in China a few weeks later at a huge remanufacturing plant.

What happens when you log on to iCloud.com/find?

Do you see a "Device Not Found" message?

Do you see an "Offline" message?

If you go to https://icloud.com/find and click on your phone in the list of apps, or open Find My on a different iPhone connected to the same Apple ID do you see it?

• If not, Find My is or was not turned on before the phone was lost
• If it appears but says “offline” then either it is powered off or located somewhere with no available Wi-Fi or cellular network signal
• If you did not have cellular data turned on when it was lost you will not be able to track it

Were you fooled by a common phishing scam: You may get a text or email from “Apple” or “Apple Security” (or sometimes “Police”) saying your phone has been found and to click on a link to see its location. This is NEVER from Apple or from law enforcement; it is from the thief or fence to steal your Apple ID and identity. Delete any such message without responding to it.
