iPhone won't ring or vibrate when Apple Watch is connected

As discussed here: IPhone won’t ring while using apple watch - Apple Community

my iPhone will not output any sound or vibration when receiving any notices or calls when the Apple Watch is connected, but not being worn.

Example: I work from home. My iPhone is with me in my office on the desk on the charger. My Apple Watch is upstairs on the charger on my nightstand, connected to my iPhone, but locked. Sitting down here in my office I consistently miss calls and notifications. I've tried everything to the point where I'm going to throw the watch out if I can't get this sorted. THERE MUST BE a way to have your phone act normal when the watch isn't being worn but connected to the phone.

Hey there!

It's expected for your phone to remain silent while locked when you're wearing Apple Watch.

If you're not wearing Apple Watch, and iPhone still doesn't notify, then it's possible that either your watch or your phone still think the watch is unlocked and on your wrist.

Does your Apple Watch have a passcode to unlock the display? If it does, are you able to confirm that the watch locks when removing it from your wrist? I'd also recommend checking that "Automatic wrist detection" is enabled in the Apple Watch app.

If you keep running into issues, you may want to disable notifications on Apple Watch, in the Watch app on iPhone. This will prevent your watch from receiving notifications, so that iPhone would always receive them.

Lastly, you may want to try unpairing Apple Watch from iPhone, then setting Apple Watch back up from a clean start.

If all else fails, you can always bring the devices over to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, where a technician can help you with this issue one-on-one.
