How to only track my steps with my Apple Watch

My son often has my phone, classic “you got games on your phone?” Situation. I was wondering if I can set my step counter to only track the steps from my watch, since I’m always wearing it and not my iPhone to get the best possible activity reading. As much as I like breaking previous records, it’s not right. Ideas?

Open the Health App on the iPhone, tap on "Browse" in the right corner at the bottom.

Then on ->Activities -> Steps, scroll down to the bottom again to Data Sources, choose "Edit" and move your iPhone to the of the list.

After that, your steps should only be counted by your watch primarily.
