I deleted and reported the message that I keep getting … it’s apparently a scammer and has 14 other numbers that are getting the text.. is there any way to block the texts from coming in?

Tap on the group icon. On the next page, you'll see an entry for (in your case) 14 People and a partial list of recipients. Tap on the arrow to the right of that.
A list should appear of everyone who received the spam. Normally, at the bottom is the person who sent it - usually an email address.
From here you can either tap Delete and Block this Conversation, or tap on that last name/number and scroll to the bottom where you can tap Block Caller.

The only solution is to shut them out (temporarily).
Open Settings ➢ Messages.
Tap the iMessage switch off.
A few days later, toggle that switch back on.
What this effectively does is tell the scammer that you don’t exist.
Be sure to reach out to your service provider and ask if they can filter out scammers from texting you.
