Child needs more space to download apps
When my granddaughter tried to download apps on her phone it says that there is not enough space to do it. What is going on?

An iPhone has local storage, and that local storage is full.
Much like a gallon jug or a five gallon bucket, different storage capacities are available. But you can’t fit more than a gallon of stuff into a gallon-sized jug.
An iPhone will forever have whatever amount of storage it was originally purchased with, and cannot be upgraded.
Local storage filling means deleting some added files or apps, or off-loading added files or data either to iCloud or to elsewhere.
Have a backup before deleting any stuff.

The iPhone 6 shown in the footer here should probably be updated to iOS 12, too. Though that update will require local storage on the iPhone, too.
