Help me wirelessly connect to apple carplay

I’ve followed all the instructions and am able to connect with a cable but as soon as I disconnect the cable the apple carplay option is grayed out and not available

Apple CarPlay connection issue on iPhone XS with Ford Mach-E I have an iPhone Xs software is up to date (18.6.1); having new onset of trouble connecting to Apple Carplay in my Ford Mach-e which also has up to date software. I have spoken with Apple and Ford and had it to the local Ford dealer twice. The second time the dealer was able to connect to carplay wirelessly with two different phones without problems. Apple was not helpful. It connects through both bluetooth and wifi app projection (a Ford term), I can connect to the wifi but it says no internet connection so I think that is where the problem is.
