I'm trying to log in to Apple ID from an old iPhone 4 but it says to enter the passcode sent to another device. I received the code on my iPhone 12 but it doesn't have any place to enter the code on iPhone 4, so I can't complete the login process.

Put it just after the password. For example, if your password is abc and the code 123456, put abc123456 in the password field.
Codes are time-limited. If yours has expired, request a new one.
