I like to listen to music that I've downloaded, podcasts, or live radio stations while I'm running. My AirPods, even when fully charged, don't last for longer than an hour. What can I do?

Those AirPods were released in 2016 which makes them very old. Apple has discontinued support for them. It's time to buy newer ones.
Thanks for your reply Carol. I contacted Apple and they’ve given me some assistance. I don’t want to replace them before I have to because of environmental reasons. So many resources are wasted by throwing things away.
My airpods 1 generation don't hold the charge for longer than an hour. Why?
