My personal experience with various Meta mobile apps is that their software engineers couldn’t care less about writing efficient code that would be more efficient and conserve battery capacity. I am the admin of several large FB groups and use Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp etc. and when I launch an app I know my battery capacity will just drain by the minute. I always make a point for force quitting any Meta app when I’m done using.

It’s easy to see what apps are draining my battery. But I haven’t been on FB et al. today and I’ve been a busy boy today.

iPhone 15 Pro Max purchased in September 2023. I charge to 100% overnight every day. My battery health is 97%.

You are not addressing Apple here, but other end users. Apple will see complaints or demands posted here.

What you see is 100% normal. All video-conferencing and streaming services work any device's hardware very hard and cause increased heat. The same thing would happen if you used a big tower computer with fans for video calls. A new phone will not change how video-conferencing works, nor can Apple make WhatsApp change their programming.
