Macbook screen breaking too easily

I have been a Mac user for over 15 years. I have had laptops that have lasted 7-8 years with no issues, but they eventually get too slow and I replaced them. Two years ago I got a Macbook Pro with the new M1 chip and in less than 6 months the screen started displaying with bars on the side and going black. Then the screen went totally black and won't display anything. I went to the Genius bar and they said it must have been dropped or "chewed on by a cat" I don't have a cat. They said it was $800 to repair. Then this year I bought my daughter a macbook air, and in 4 months the screen is doing the same thing. After years of no issues, the last two macbooks have not performed well. Looking at these forums, I am not alone. Apple should treat their customers with respect and not nickel and dime us to repair poorly performing components.

Apple standard warranty does not cover glass breakage. if you try to pressure Apple employees, they have no way to respond other than to say unkind things to you.

Electro-mechanical devices fail at random, arbitrary, and capricious times.

The most frequent reason for most failures is 'just because'.

Your specific failure is most likely caused by an advanced scientific principle called ...

... 'bad luck'.

Glass breakage is not covered unless you purchased the AppleCare PLUS plan, subject to co-payment.

Apple says all products come with a 1 year warranty. I brought in my macbook pro to the genius bar last year before my warranty was out, and they said it wasn't covered. My wife brought our macbook air in today and they said it wasn't covered. We bought the macbook air in March of this year. With no visible damage, and a screen not working properly, how is that not covered?
