Paid for, unlocked iPhone 14 Pro was sold and reset. The iPhone locked as the new carrier tried to transfer the eSIM. & calls to carrier and store visit with rep on the phone in store. Nobody at the store ever saw anything like this. 6 Calls later to the carrier, phone is still sim locked.
Was this iPhone purchased new directly from Apple? That is the ONLY way to get an unlocked iPhone in the US. If purchased from any other seller it will be carrier locked. The carrier it is locked to will unlock it if the phone is paid off, but you have to ask them to; it isn’t automatic.
Where, exactly, did you buy it?
I paid for it at T-Mobile and it was unlocked last year around December and it was reset a couple times remaining unlocked. Once I sold it and the customer reset it, it locked again and T-Mobile can’t figure out what’s going on and it shows that it is an unlocked device.
T-Mobile and the store has never seen anything like this.
Please clarify the timeline… T-Mobile does not sell unlocked iPhones. The phones they sell are locked to T-Mobile.
