Issue with CSV parsing with field name Lesson Codes values Prefixed with "CHE" in Numbers

Why is this happening in Numbers with CHE prefixes that i formatted the code as float. Although in sheets it is parsing well.

It appears it is thinking "CHE" is currency. What region is your computer set to? "CHE" is supposedly Swiss WIR Euro but so far I can't get it to show up on the list of currencies or to have it mess up the import like yours is doing.

I'd like to duplicate the problem before posting a solution but here are two possible ones:

  1. Starting with a blank table in a document, format the first column as text. Drag & drop your CSV file onto the table to import it. It should import the first column as text.
  2. Try the script from this thread How to turn off automatic formatting of l… - Apple Community that imports delimited files to a new document with everything imported as text. If you like it, turn it into a Shortcut app shortcut to make it easier to use. Or put the Script Editor app icon on the menu bar and you can run the script from there with a click. We can help with either of those or if you need help running the script from the Script Editor app to try it out.
