Does AirDrop Leak Email Addresses and Phone Numbers to Strangers?
I took a video of my family on a rollercoaster at an amusement park. A man approached me and told me his family was on the ride too and asked if I would airdrop him the video. I figured it was safe to airdrop and he wouldn't have access to any of my personal information. Afterwards, I looked into it and was concerned to find several articles saying there's a security gap and it's very easy to access and hack your phone number and email while using airdrop. Could I have been targeted specifically and tricked into using airdrop so he could access my phone and email to find out my identity? Really appreciate your insight, hoping this was not malicious and airdrop is secure and this flaw has been fixed! Thanks!
