Quicktime will not record audio during screen recording | Sonoma 14.5, QT Version 10.5, 2021 MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max
I have scoured every post, here (and across the rest of the web), covering the issue of QuickTime not recording audio and have not been able to resolve it.
When I open QuickTime manually or with Shift+Command+5, choose a microphone (any that I choose, including the internal/system mic), record a screen, speak and then stop the recording, the resulting video file has no audio.
If I choose to create an audio recording in QT, it will record audio successfully.
QT is toggled on in System Settings>Privacy & Security>Screen & System Audio Recording.
It's worth noting that it is not listed among apps with access to my microphone, but why, then, would QT be able to record when doing an Audio Recording?
Also, there is no way to add an app when you go to System Settings>Privacy & Security>Microphone.
I just spent an hour on this and I'm at my wits' end. Help is welcomed. Thanks.
