HDMI-CEC not working

Prior to tvOS 17.4 & 17.5, the apple tv (model a2169) would turn on/off the conneced samsung (qn55q8fnb). The new versions require us to use a two-remote solution to turn on/off the tv now.

the hdmi-cec no longer seems to work. Is there any solution?

Apple TV HDMI CONTROL not working A couple days ago I updated to TVos 18. I have a Sony A90j and a Marantz 6015 that all used to work great with CEC controls, but now it’s a disaster. The Apple TV remote will turn the TV off, but that’s the extent of control. It will not turn it back on, will not control volume, and will not do ANYTHING with the Marantz. I have the Apple TV 4K most recent unit plugged into HDMI 4 of my TV; and the Marantz plugged in to the eARC HDMI 3 of the TV. Not very happy about this.

How do I ensure Apple TV 4K Home Screen appears when turning on TV/ATV with the Apple Remote? Hello, I have an ATV 4k connected via hdmi to my samsung tv. My hope was to only use the apple remote (not the tv remote. In general, that seems to work well and the ATV remote controls my tv. However, when I turn off the tv at night with my apple remote, and then later turn it back on (with the apple remote) the tv turns on, and the ATV seems to be turned on as I can see the ATV light blinking when I use the remote, but I don't get the ATV home screen. The tv's regular smart screen or source shows. The only way I can get the ATV screen is to power off button on atv remote then power on, then home screen button and eventually it shows atv home screen. My question is, how do I set it up so that when I turn on tv/atv with apple remote, it just turns on atv home screen. (note, this only seems to happen if tv is off for a while like over night) [Re-Titled by Moderator]

this solution didnt make sense, but it worked... I shut off the master power to the tv & Apple TV (and PS5, and sound system) went to dinner with my family, and when I powered it all back up, the HDMI-CEC worked as expected again.

if it was then I would turn it off on both tv and appletv and then pull the plug on both and let them boot up and them turn it on on both and pull the plug on both once again, also pull the plug on the wifi router
