Will using iPad Pro as monitor for my mini pc cause damage?

I would like to use one of my iPad pros or my MacBook Air as the only monitor for my MeLE Quieter 4C mini PC running Windows 11 Pro. I do not own a monitor but do have a mouse and can get borrow keyboard. Speed is no issue neither is resolution. This will only be used to set up the mini PC until I can use the RDC app on my iPad. And may be occasionally for some troubleshooting on the PC.

Will I cause any damage to my iPad Pro if I just plug the USB cable from my iPad Pro and into the mini PC? The mini PC has two HDMI output. Should I get an HDMI cable? I do have Apple the converter from HDMI to USB-C.

Again, speed and resolution, and the overall view is not of any concern. I just need to do some file installation. Then done.

Many thanks

There are third party apps for PC/windows that offer the ability to use an iPad screen as a second screen. Not sure as the primary screen. At the very least, you’d need a PC screen to set up the settings on the PC to display the iPad. It requires 3rd party software and in some cases hardware. I’m familiar with Duet and I’ve heard iDisplay is good as well. I have not connection to either company. But I do know the chief engineer and owner of Duet is a former Apple engineer.
