Why is Podcasts always open on my MacBook Air?

its always on even if you force to quit. .. it come on on its own. running in bak ground. must force to quit 5 to 10 time a day . if matchbook its on running with with out usage of it. ????

Please download and run (free) EtreCheck, and share the results to the clipboard. Then open a new reply here, and press the Additional Text button that looks like a printed page, and paste and post the hardware and software configuration report here. From that, we can get a little more detail about what is installed and what is running here.

Thanks for the tip.. we did & to no avail . it keeps coming on now on all Mac minis & MacBooks. in random order or not in any order . the port its clean. but if you know of any additional tools please advice. I love to fiend out how to stop it. other then removing internet access to devices & removing all access to PotCast. .if it can be deleted will be better I'm sure.

I don’t see the EtreCheck report attached around here, so I don’t know the details of the configuration.


The Podcast app is part of macOS and cannot be deleted. Per Apple: “You can't use the Finder to delete apps that are required by your Mac. This includes many apps that are installed by macOS, such as Mail, Music, Books, Notes, Podcasts, Maps, News, and Stocks.”
