I bought an iPad Pro M4 a week ago (Australia). I opened it, tried it for the purpose and it isn’t suitable. Am I correct in my recall at the time of purchase that I can return it even if opened? I still have all packaging and the box.

Sorry to hear that you’re not happy with your iPad Pro M4. Where did you purchase your iPad Pro M4, what is it from an Apple retail store, was it from apple.com, or from a third-party like Amazon?
Depending on where you purchased it from will determine your window of opportunity to be able to return it. I would strongly recommend you contact the place of where you purchased it from by looking online to see what the return policy is, or calling them and asking them if you can return it and what you need to do.

rules may differ from country to country don't know anything about the rules in Australia but I've come to understand that in USA people always have a 14 day return windows full refund no questions asked, if it was me then I would look into that
