My Finder sidebar disappeared and I can't get it back. I have all the favorites selected but they do not appear in the sidebar. I rebooted and get the same view.

Do you still see the actual Finder sidebar, but it is empty? Or is the sidebar not even showing up even if the sidebar is empty?
Try toggling the settings off & back on. On the Finder's "View" menu there is an option to Show/Hide the sidebar.
Try booting into Safe Mode to see if that makes any difference.
