Changing Pages sharing permissions for ALL documents

Whenever I create a new Pages document the default sharing and permissions settings are "read & write" for me and "No Access" for "everyone." Then when I email a Pages document to someone for their own editing they are unable to edit.

Is there a way to change the master default settings for "everyone" to "read and write" ? I know this can be done by using "get info" on the individual document file and making the change but to do so for each document I create is cumbersome.

Thanks in advance

Those permissions are set for your local device and do not travel as extended file attributes across email. Other users may not be able to open or edit your current Pages document as it may contain newer content than their Pages application supports; the Mail transfer may have damaged the Pages document, or they are still using Pages '09 on Mojave or older which won't be able to open the current Pages document because the format is incompatible. And finally, only Pages can open its documents.

I would clarify what application the recipients are attempting to use and if Pages, then the version. Not all features of Pages are implemented on different Mac platforms owing to operating system or cloud differences in implementation.
