Merge vs don’t merge during iCloud setup

Merge takes any data that's on devices and merges it when you sign back in. If you don't select merge, things that are only on your iPhone won't be uploaded to iCloud.

You said you selected "merge". If so, what's done is done and you can't unmerge anything. So, there is no longer any real choice to be made. Again, are you having any problems with the choice you made?

I have answered that question and will not be repeating myself. Also, "irony" doesn't mean what you seem to think it means. This leads me to believe that English is not your native language. You may want to seek out the Apple Community Forums in other languages and see if one of those is easier for you to understand.

iCloud Drive is a synchronization service, and it can look like files were "moved to iCloud," when instead they were copied to iCloud.
