Do I need to get new SIM card to set up my new iPad Air?

I want to continue to use my iPad gn6. I have a New Air. Do I need to get another SIM card to set it up?

Assuming that you have a WiFi+Cellular model iPad - and your iPad mini6 is using an eSIM for Cellular service, simply transfer the Cellular plan from your old to your new iPad Air:

About eSIM on iPad - Apple Support


If instead your iPad is using a physical DataSIM, move the SIM to your new iPad:

Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPad - Apple Support


Should your old iPad use a physical DataSIM, but the new iPad only supports eSIM, you will need to migrate from physical SIM to eSIM - and will need to seek assistance from your existing Cellular provider.
