MacBook Air 2017 Boot Loop, No Display/Black screen with backlight on

My MacBook Air 2017 is stuck in a boot loop. It has 8gb ram, 128gb ssd, and a 1.6ghz processor. When powered on, the MacBook chimes normally, pauses for a second or two, then begins playing a distorted chime on loop. In between chimes, there is a 1-2 second pause. Attempting to boot into recovery mode, internet recovery mode, and boot options fails (as in it keeps boot looping.) During all of this boot looping, the backlight of the screen is on but the actual screen is black. Resetting SMC and PRAM has done nothing. Very, very, very rarely it will open up boot options or boot. I tried using boot options on one of the rare occurrences it would let me in to install Linux in hopes that the problem would be fixed, but the install seems to have corrupted. If I try to turn on the system with the ssd removed, it doesn’t show a blinking folder with a question mark. It just keeps boot looping as before. Please help.

Edit: Sometimes it will chime once and stay on a black screen, not chiming again. During all of the boot loops the fan is running, and the MacBook does take charge and will run without the battery.
