Group messaging between iPhones and Android is not working

Most of our work group have iPhones but one person has an android. She can send texts that we all can see but most of our phones are sending as iMessages instead of sms. We can all text her directly but when it comes to the group, the Apple phones are switching to iMessage and she doesn’t receive them. My phone was one of the few that was sending as sms but just recently switched to iMessage and won’t send as text messages anymore unless I’m sending it to only her. We did try disassociating her number from iMessage but it said her number wasn’t registered. Have checked all our settings and can’t find a way for her to receive our messages in the group.

Ensure that group messaging is configured to send as SMS/MMS:

1. Go to Settings > Messages.

2. Ensure Send as SMS and MMS Messaging are enabled.

Sometimes starting a new group chat can reset the message type:

1. Open the Messages app.

2. Create a new message.

3. Add all the group members, including the Android user.

4. Send a message to this new group to see if it switches to SMS/MMS.
