iPad damaged during trade in, Phobio damaged it.

so i bought a new iPad two weeks ago and was trading my old one it. my previous iPad is less than a year old and was in mint condition. the iPad basically lived on my bed and side table. it was never dropped, not even once. i received the return box and packaged it correctly, it was secure, i had no misgivings about potential damage. i inspected it again as i was packing it up and there wasnt a speck of damage. after shipping it i receive an email saying my trade in value was adjusted to 0.00 due to 13 spots of damage including dents, scratches and screen lifting up. i figured surely they have made a mistake, i was confident it was in great condition, that maybe they had my iPad confused with someone else. i had no choice but to cancel the deal but i figured its no big deal, i'll sell it on eBay and would get more money for it anyways. so they send me my iPad back and low and behold it has dents on three corners, screen is indeed lifting up and the damage looks fresh and has flaking metal. i know, it sounds crazy, i know people aren't going to believe me but this iPad was in great condition when i shipped it. i thought about it and considered it had been damaged in shipping but how would three corners be damaged in exactly the same way? it wasnt crushed, the screen wasnt shattered etc. i would think if it had drop damage it wouldn't be the exact same damage on three corners. my conclusion is that Phobio intentionally damaged my product. it looks like someone picked it up and then struck three corners on a hard surface. so i posted this story somewhere else and learned that i am not the only person! google Phobio damage and apple, theres also an article on TheVerge about them. i'm really not a conspiracy type and i'm not trying to fleece apple for 400 bucks - but theres no way this damage happened in shipping. so i complained with apple and it got escalated, we shall see what happens. folks, if you are going to trade in an apple device then do it at the store. if you must send it in then take pics/video as you pack it - apple told me if i had pics i'd be more believable.
