How to unlock iPhone locked by owner

You likely bought a stolen iPhone, which you can NEVER use unless you know the person who originally locked the phone and can get them to remove the phone from their account. If you don't know them, nor can you reach them, you are the proud owner of a useless brick, you can't use. Apple will NOT help you. We CANNOT help you. Only the person who locked the phone can. Assuming this is your situation, either return the phone for refund if you can or recycle the phone responsibly. It is totally, utterly useless to you.

Activation lock is a security protocol that can't be bypassed. Only the person it is locked to can unlock it.

If you bought this from someone and it came locked, try to get your money back, you will never be able to use the phone.

The ONLY proof of purchase Apple would accept is the ORIGINAL purchase receipt from when the phone was originally purchased, which shows the iPhone Serial Number on it. This user clearly would NOT have this.

You bought a stolen phone. If you can't return it for a refund, turn it over to the police or recycle it.

You can’t use this iPhone unless you know the owner or you’ve proof of purchase.

Proof of purchase would only be useful if the user was the original owner of the phone......which they are not.

Yet another reason to avoid buying a used phone.
