I´m new to the Apple universe and thinking of getting an Apple TV. But I want to know if Netflix, Disney+ and MAX (prev HBO Max) works with the device. Any other streaming services such as SkyShowtime etc? Any changes on the horizon?

Absolutely they work, I subscribe to all (and more) of the streaming apps you mention on my Apple TV 4Ks. I have 4 of them throughout my home and all work with 1 subscription to each app.
There are thousands of apps available on the App Store on the Apple TV, you just download which ones you want, login and enjoy the content.

Yes. There’s an App Store for you to install and set them up. I don’t know about some you mention but for sure Netflix, Disney, Tubi, Prime, Paramount etc.
