Problem of alignment with dialogues (using dashes)

I was really becoming afraid there was nothing to do concerning this issue, because even on Apple Books some editors didn’t succeed to do this properly (see picture below). So, once again, amazing, thanks !

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I cannot use bullets because it messes with the book editing/publishing process, and also because it moves to the right all the text — for example, “comes” should appear just below the dash as in my picture, not below the “Hi !” as in yours.

I had not seen that style in my region. It seems books use quote characters (“…”) for all the verbal dialog, where I live. Today I learned a new thing. :-)

Yes I don’t think it really exists in the US, UK, etc. I’m using this style because I live in France and that’s the way here many editors like and also the main way to which readers are accustomed ;)

Yes of course. The issue is fixed when the text is left-aligned. The thing is I need to have my text justified-aligned because that’s the format in which books are sold.
