You can expect a Battery Health drop of 1% per month. This drop is not linear and some months will not drop at all and other months will drop more. Use Optimized Charging and charge your iPhone every night.

After a software update, you may experience extra heat and lagging while the new OS is indexing the files. Some updates also provide additional algorithms for object detection in your photos. The amount of time it takes will depend on how many photos you have. These are down in the background during idle time, but not when your phone is turned off. If your phone is plugged into power and left on, this will be done more quickly and you should not experience after a couple of days.

The phone works overtime for a few days after any software update. This is normal.

The battery might have been at 95.1 % and declined to 93.9%.....but due to the way that Apple rounds the numbers 95.1% appears as 95% and 93.9% appears as 93%.

So, it looks like the battery declined 2% when it really only moved 1.2%.

Give things a few days to stabilize. If the phone is still getting too hot, make an appointment at the Apple Store or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop.

You can find a list of authorized shops in your area using this link: Find Locations
