Sceptical about water resistance after screen replacement from authorized apple care service center | iPhone 15 Pro Max

Hi Community,

Hope you all are great.

I’ve been an iPhone user since 2021 and upgraded to latest iPhone every year along with applecare+ protection. It’s was the first time while using iPhone 15 Pro Max, I encountered strange issues with display hence I got it fixed from the authorised service center (probably in may). All was going great, until I was travelling on my moter bike for a ride and it started raining. When I came back home I realised my device encountering issues like unexpected reboot and hours later the display stopped working. Upon further inspection I saw moisture on front and rear cameras and went to apple authorised service center to have it diagnosed(July).

Though the team apple has resolved my concern with yet another screen replacement, however, my query is whether the device remains same as original configuration in-terms of IP68 rating?

I’m seeking answer to this because i never faced such issues with any of the predecessor models during rain. I own this device for 8 months so far and plan to upgrade to successor model that would launch in September but having a device repaired twice is extremely disappointing and sad.

I’m very well aware that the device is not at all waterproof and it is water resistant and that too till a certain depth and a specific time frame as advertised on the website and policy.

We are users.....just like you. We do not have sophisticated testing equipment to be able to answer your questions.

Frankly, only Apple engineers would be able to give you an accurate answer to your questions.

If you want an opinion.......I do not think that the iPhone 15 is any better or any worse than other iPhone models as far as water resistance.

But of course, you may receive other opinions.
