Files app - How to remove password from .pdf that I added?

Hey!

Within the Files app, I accidentally locked a .pdf and added a password thinking that it would make it read-only. It obviously does not, just requires a password be used to access the file.

How do I remove this password that I just, literally 20 minutes ago, added to my own .pdf?

( Is it truly the case that I can add a password onto a file within the Files app on ipados but can't change or remove that same password? That I just added to it? )

Please do not hesitate to ask questions.

Thank you!!

I apologize for being unclear: the pdf was a pdf before I added the password; I know the password as I created it and added it to the pdf within iOS; I wanted to know how to edit or remove the password from the pdf within iOS.

Alas however, seems as though it’s a known bug and the password that I added cannot be edited or removed within iOS.

Getting this to Have no Password:

One workaround, would be to print the document in hard copy > scan it all back in > print it as a PDF document(located towards the bottom-left corner of the print-window that pops up). Is a result, it will be saved as a digital file, and no hard copy will be printed afterwards.

Editing a Password for a PDF Document:

PDF is Post Data Format, making it uneditable. So, no, this is not an option. So, find the password where you would have stored it. If you can't find it, then find it in a file that was saved prior to this password creation.
