Macbook pro icons removal ( not on the bottom dock)

How do I remove icons on my display screen without removing them completely. One is a file, the other says macintosh HD. They are in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.5

Finder>Setting >General uncheck the offending selection(s)

if the "file" is still there, and you can not delete it, move to some other folder, you will have to say more:

what file type?

where did it come from?

old issue, new isuuse, what changed?

what do you want to do with this "file" exactly?
