Sounds like a weak signal.
Try 4G LTE only and compare your results.
You can Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network Settings <—————————RESET
If you see SOS, No Service, or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
and try again.
Call you Carrier for known issue. They can reprovision the phone remotely if necessary.
