Alert Icon on event in Final Cut Pro for no reason

I had some files with broken links. I fixed them. A missing media event icon on my event remains for seemingly no reason. I've seen this a time or two. Any thoughts?

Red missing icon in Timeline yet file is present in Browser? I am resurrecting a 6 year old project shot in HDV (1440x1080i). Every clip in the Timeline displays the red warning icon in the Viewer and yet selecting Reveal in Browser displays it present and correct and working. It's as though from a playback point of view the Timeline has lost connection with the clips in the Browser.

Events loading endlessly on Final Cut Pro There are situations where FCPX will spend endless time loading events for no apparent reason. For instance, when collapsing the library layout (hiding the events) which in my view should be nothing else than hiding some text, FCPXwill load ALL events in the library BEFORE collapsing it. WHY ?? It takes forever and is absolutely useless. Maybe there is some technical reason, but in that case it is a design flaw. Can't delete 'phantom' Events Okay, weird one. I have a few events that are no longer needed. I deleted the files from the library directly (my bad) and this has left me with 'phantom' events. Basically FCP thinks there's an event there but it has no associated files so on start-up it says something like 'Library corrupted, files missing'. I have tried to delete the Events but it seems to be a catch-22... without any content they can't be deleted but because they are there as Events without content they are seen as corrupted. I tried directly deleting. Nothing. I tried the File> Move event to trash route but the option to do so is greyed out. Any suggestions?

Ignore it. The event alerts seem to get stuck after the correction is made. Sometimes they’re cleared with a reboot, sometimes not.

Not easy for my OCD...I keep scratching at the screen but nothing happens.... Thanks for the encouragement. I'll try some clear nail polish on the screen :).
