In Photos there is a subfolder where raw files are kept. When I drag a raw file onto the desktop it automatically converts it to a jpg. Is this a bug or by design, very annoying.

Dragging a photo out of Photos to the desktop always drags a preview rather than the original or even the current modified full resolution copy. If you want the Raw file, use the Export Originals function.
