Unable to convert photo to JPG. Sonoma 14.3.1

I have a saved image and when I try an export, I only have the option for JPEG. I have held the option key when selecting the file type, but JPG does not appear to be there.

Dragging raw image from Photos to desktop converts it to jpg In Photos there is a subfolder where raw files are kept. When I drag a raw file onto the desktop it automatically converts it to a jpg. Is this a bug or by design, very annoying.

Can't convert jpg to webp with the preview app Hello everyone, I'm working on a personal website project and I'm trying to optimize my images (webp recommended by Google). I've read that converting my .jpg files to .webp can significantly improve page load times without sacrificing quality. The problem is the preview app does not have an option to export jpg as webp. Could you please share the recommended methods or tools for converting JPG to WEBP? I have a lot of images to get through.

jpeg is the same as jpg. For some reason Apple now favors jpeg. Just change it or use some 3rd party app like GraphicConverter to batch change all.
