Problem opening a .xlxs file on Google sheet

This is my problem, I have files from my old pc (Windows) on my Google drive.

When I want to open a file from the Finder, I want it to directly open it on Google sheet and NOT Numbers.

I was used to press the mouse, right side, and than select OPEN WITH GOOGLE DRIVE.

But I wanted to open it, from the beginning, with this condition; so I selected OPEN WITH... and then GOOGLE SHEET... but I get an error:

The document “XXX.xlsx” could not be opened. ksadmin cannot open files in the “Office Open XML spreadsheet” format.

Can someone help me with this?

I'd like to have a faste way to open the files in google sheet.

Thanks

Laura

Laura, I can only find 2 solutions///

Open the files in the Free LibreOffice and resave them, it handles MS Office files like Word & Excel, & Page Layout…

https://www.libreoffice.org/

Or in the Terminal...

Delete the file ksadmin file.

Pros: ksadmin messages go away.

Cons: Chrome doesn't self-update (and that's not necessarily a bad thing!) Some people might not consider this part an acceptable downside.

Spaces extremely important, Copy then Paste should work...

sudo rm -f ~/Library/Google/GoogleSoftwareUpdate/GoogleSoftwareUpdate.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ksadmin

sudo will ask you for an Admin password that won't be echoed.

Carefully type your admin password when asked & hit enter.
