Software glitch causing random screen and mouse movement

I have a MacBook Pro M3 running Sonoma 14.5. Over the last week or so it has started having this issue where the windows will start randomly switching or the menu bar with just randomly switch. The only way I can stop it is to hold down the power buttons. I’m including a video. Any suggestions for ways to fix would be great. https://youtu.be/RebLAC0Ce7w

Wow that is impressive—

To trouble shoot you can :

—A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

if no resolve, and this is a brand new Mac I would return it; ther eis a 14 day window for returns or exchange for one that works as expected. Call Customer Support (800) MY–APPLE (800–692–7753)

I've seen something similar when the Trackpad has a hardware failure. A Keyboard failure is also another possibility.

Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. Unfortunately the diagnostics rarely detect problems even when a hardware issue is confirmed through other means. It would also be interesting to see how the laptop works when you are sitting at the Startup Options screen and even on the Apple Diagnostics screen on the EULA screen & the results screen. If you see issues here, then you have a hardware issue, although you could try a DFU firmware Revive to reset the security enclave & system firmware on the slim chance this could solve the problem.
