Too dark - Streaming Apple TV on LG

Thank goodness I use closed caption so that at least I can see the white letters on the almost completely black screen scenes while watching Apple TV shows (7/24/24). Streaming on LG tv, no Apple TV box. Note that I can watch Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Viki without having this issue while streaming on that same LG tv. I don’t need to adjust tv settings since all those others are fine. How can I adjust for what appears on Apple TV? I always say “no” to the director’s version that already warns that it may be too dark.
