Using Oxford spelling (international English)

In Pages and other applications I can default my spelling languages any 9 versions of English: British, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, South African, Indian, Singaporean and even Japanese English!

However I cannot seem to find a way to use the most international English which is widely used in academia: Oxford English. This version uses -ize and then whichever spelling is the closest to the root/original latin/saxon etc. word. So for example:

  • centre, not center
  • analyse, not analyze
  • colour, programme, enrolment...

The Canadian version is, I believe, the closest but it still has differences such as tire for tyre.

Is there any way to load an Oxford spell checker in MacOS?

Thanks

Thanks; this got me searching in a different direction. There are several ways but all seem cumbersome. The closest to something both recognised and up to day is a Libre Office extension available for Mac. I have no idea if the file can be installed in such a way that it is read by MacOS (and therefore Pages). Perhaps you would know?

Yes, should work fine

I can't find any references to "International English" as a formalized standard. It seems to be more of a set of ideas on how English should/could be used. Therefore, it would make sense to me that there's no way to have a way to spell-check "International English."

I work in Academia in the U.S. Our faculty is international in origin. I've never seen them use "centre", "colour" or any of the other examples you've given.

I would suggest you use the version of English that most of your readers are likely to be using. Or pick the one you like the best. The differences in spelling don't tend to interfere with most English speaker's ability to understand what you've written.
