Can't finish downloading iOS software update within 15 mins. How to know my Mac continue downloading it?
I have on iPhone in recovery mode. I'm trying to update the iPhone in order to avoid restoring it. When iOS update download started my computer went to a sleep mode for a second. After that Finder window had updated only to inform me that:
"Your Mac is currently downloading software for the iPhone "iPhone".
Progress bar for the download was gone and I couldn't figure if the download was proceeding or not. This was similar situation that other users had encountered as well. After reading this offical Apple article about restoring an iPhone I came to a conclusion that download should continue progressing somewhere inside macOS and Disk Utility could tell me that the download was slowly filling the SSD inside my Mac.
Why is that there is no progress bar available for such a large download? Where can you find one? With slower internet connection as mine this download could take over half an hour to finish and it would really help to be able to see the progress or at least to be able to validate that the download is actually proceeding.
